Doctors have mixed views on state of health care industry

A survey conducted by athenahealth showed that employed or hospital-based doctors are more optimistic about the state of the health care industry than are independent doctors. Only 1 in 10 participating doctors agreed that independent practices will do well in the changing health care environment. Regarding EHR use, the study found that 79% of respondents are confident they can satisfy the requirements set for the second stage of the EHR meaningful use program.
