FedEx lowers takeoff gaps, boosts efficiency at Tenn. airport

The new ReCat system that FedEx has deployed is letting more planes arrive and depart from Memphis International Airport in Tennessee. "Not only does this increase the hub's capacity by nine flights per hour; it also results in fuel savings, and more minutes to sort customer packages. That means that aircraft stay safely separated, and you get your packages sooner," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx.
