GI woes worsen during heat waves, study suggests

Gastrointestinal problems tend to worsen during heat waves, according to a study by Swiss scientists published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology. Data showed each additional heat wave day raised the risk of an inflammatory bowel disease flare-up by 4.6% and the risk of infectious gastroenteritis by 4.7%.
