Judge dismisses case involving criminal-background checks

A federal judge harshly criticized the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission last week while dismissing a case in which the EEOC accused an event-marketing company of discriminating against black applicants by using criminal-background checks. "The story of the present action has been that of a theory in search of facts to support it," Judge Roger Titus wrote in his ruling.
