Lawmaker aims to drive high-tech innovation, new IT jobs

Sen. Tom Udall, D-N.M., says he will propose a bill aimed at spurring collaboration between federal agencies, such as the Energy Department, and high-tech vendors to speed up innovation and create more IT jobs. The Technology Transfer Invention, Innovation, and Implementation Act would also spur public-private partnerships in his state's tech industry. "Our goal is to reduce bureaucracy so we can get cutting-edge research and technology from the workbench to the marketplace, leading to a 21st-century boost for entrepreneurship and job creation across the state," Udall said.
