As the energy drink market moves beyond functionality, beverage makers are focusing on offering new flavors that give the drinks appeal beyond the time frame of the post-lunch energy slump, analysts say. Natural ingredients such as coconut water and fruit juices are also appearing as marketers look to attract more health-conscious consumers. Other successful product innovations include zero-calorie energy shots and hybrid beverages such as energizing tea drinks.
