Some hotels join airlines in charging extra fees

Hotels are joining airlines in adding more fees. In the U.S. this year, hotels will collect about $2.1 billion in fees and surcharges, which is up from $2 billion last year according to the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management at New York University. Many hotels that business travelers use, however, do not add extra fees for most services, Joe Sharkey writes.
