U.S. mobile gamers take the platform lead at 126 million

Playing games on mobile devices has eclipsed all other platforms in the U.S. this year, attracting nearly 126 million players. Though the groups overlap, that number tops online casual gamers (about 97 million), social gamers (80 million) and console gamers (43 million), per eMarketer. The growth rate of mobile gaming is projected to be higher, too, with more than 191 million gamers expected by 2017 as the smartphone eclipses the feature phone among users.
