Summer has thrown a few hot burger trends into high gear, including the latest outgrowth of the seemingly endless passion for bacon. McDonald's, which first tried out its bacon-topped Quarter Pounder in Japan and Canada, has put it on the menu in several U.S. states and aims to make it available nationwide in the near future. Pretzel buns are also popping up in more places, including Wendy's, Dunkin' Donuts and Ruby Tuesday.
