Many meds commonly taken by elderly tied to greater risk of falls

An analysis of data on more than 64,000 people older than 65 in Sweden found that half of the 20 drugs most commonly prescribed to seniors were associated with a greater risk of falls. The link was strongest for painkillers and antidepressants, researchers said. The findings appeared in the European Journal of Public Health.
