Utilities come face-to-face with cyber vulnerability

Cybersecurity is now listed as one of the top worries facing the U.S. energy sector, according to a Black & Veatch survey, with the potential for network infiltration jumping two spots this year on an annual ranking of issues confronted by utilities executives. While potential cyberthreats are now fourth on a list of concerns behind regulatory issues and reliability, the poll found that barely a third of utilities currently have the solutions in place to protect their infrastructure from attack.
