Tampa airport seeking surveillance cameras for bag handlers

Officials at Tampa International Airport are seeking federal stimulus funds to install surveillance cameras in the airport's baggage handling area. The cameras "could in some circumstances provide information on possible (baggage) thefts," says the TSA's federal security director for the Tampa Bay region. A grant of up to $8.3 million would add 40 to 50 cameras to the roughly 200 cameras already in use at TIA.
