White House to defend Clinton's roadless rules

The Obama administration will defend a rule put in place by the Clinton administration that prevents road construction on millions of acres of national forests. The administration filed an appeals notice that preserves its right to appeal a district court's ruling that repealed the so-called roadless rules. Court decisions on the roadless rules are conflicting and have both upheld and blocked the rules.
