Soy-germ pasta may cut heart disease risk in those with type 2 diabetes

Patients with type 2 diabetes who consumed a soy-germ-enriched pasta showed improvements in endothelial functions and blood pressure rates, and had a 5% increase in brachial artery flow, a study in Diabetes Care found. More study is needed to determine whether the isoflavones in the pasta have anti-inflammatory effects, one researcher said.
