Veterans heal as they prepare shelter dogs for new roles

Some veterans suffering the psychological scars of war are training dogs as part of a study at the University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine. Many of the dogs that complete the training program as part of a study by the school's Research Center for Human-Animal Interaction will go on to live in new adoptive homes, while some are learning to become service dogs for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.
