AAFP calls for one-year extension to MU stage 2 timeline

AAFP Board Chair Glen Stream, M.D., sent a letter to the CMS calling for changes to the meaningful use stage 2 timeline because many family physicians and EHR vendors may not be ready to comply with the current deadline. The AAFP called for extending the deadline for stage 2 MU requirements by one year and creating three groups of eligible professionals who would be affected differently by the modified schedule.
