Analyst: High cost of sports is driving viewers to cut the cord

The escalating cost of sports rights is the elephant in the pay-TV room, with the industry aware of its threat to the business but seemingly unable to address it, according to analyst Craig Moffett. "The reason people are cutting the cord is because the price of pay TV is too high," Moffett said. "The whole industry is in a car headed for the cliff, and the response is to step on the accelerator even harder."
