Japan is nearing end of deflation, government says

The Japanese government says in a report that it is getting closer to ending deflation. The report offers the most optimistic view of prices in nearly four years. "Recent price developments indicate that deflation is ending," according to the monthly economic report. For the first time in more than a year, consumer prices increased in June, but electric bills were the biggest factor.
