Juniper: Mobile apps will be a $75 billion market in 4 years

Worldwide consumer spending on mobile applications is forecast to reach $75 billion by 2017, with games accounting for nearly one-third of that total, according to Juniper Research. In-app purchases will represent three-quarters of that $75 billion, the market research firm estimates. Amazon and Microsoft will present greater competition to Apple and Google in mobile apps, Juniper predicts.
