New regimen could help fight hepatitis C virus

A German study found interferon-free treatment with a combination of faldaprevir, deleobuvir and ribavirin was effective in a clinical trial involving 362 patients with chronic hepatitis C genotype 1. Depending on dosage and duration of treatment, 52% to 69% of the participants were hepatitis-free three months after therapy.
