Precast: A distinct architectural detail of London learning center

"Set within a strict 1,200mm module grid of slender precast-concrete trabeations, story-high panels of brick and glass alternate around" the facade of the Ortus Maudley Learning Centre in London, writes Ellis Woodman. The architectural firm of Duggan Morris created the structure. Two of the deisgn firm's goals were to create a cost-efficient building while at the same time designing one that would fit between two distinct characters of nearby buildings, Woodman notes.
