Spending cuts hit long-term jobless in U.S.

The government's spending cuts aimed at narrowing the budget deficit are having a significant effect on the long-term unemployed. The Labor Department says 4.3 million Americans have been unemployed for more than six months. Only 37% of them received jobless benefits in July.
