W.Va. removes CHIP enrollment waiting period

In response to the health care overhaul initiated by the Obama administration, the Children's Health Insurance Agency board in West Virginia agreed on Wednesday to remove the 90-day waiting period prior to enrollment of uninsured children in the Children's Health Insurance Program effective Oct. 1. This waiting period was placed to discourage privately insured people from switching to CHIP coverage.
