On-call trainees omit many clinically important issues during handover

Researchers examined 141 clinically important overnight issues observed within 26 days and found that on-call trainees omitted 40.4% of these issues upon morning handover. The trainees also failed to put any information on the medical records for 85.8% of the issues, according to the study in JAMA Internal Medicine.
