FSB hears from industry on currency fixing

Foreign exchange trade associations and asset managers have told the Financial Stability Board that its proposal for a fixed fee or bid-offer spread to cover the cost of currency fixing could be good or bad, depending on whether risk taking is removed from the equation. Public comment ended this week, with one asset manager suggesting that a bid-offer approach could end bad practices.
