New flood maps may limit development in Wisconsin county

New flood maps in Wisconsin's Brown County may boost costs and limit development in the area. "It could be very costly," said Humboldt Town Chairman Norb Dantinne. "(Flood-risk designation) could make the land unusable. Right now, someone couldn't put a garage up next to their house." The new maps, which were redrawn by FEMA, may boost participation in the National Flood Insurance Program, observers say.
