Accelerator launches new biotech venture

Accelerator, a biotech incubator in Seattle, is launching its ninth company. Mirina Corp. will develop micro-RNA-based treatments for cancer or infectious diseases using "minor groove binder technology" licensed from Nanogen. David McElligott, a former executive at ICOS Corp., will head Mirina's research and development efforts.
