Cavaney says proposed energy taxes are discriminatory

An energy compromise proposed by the Senate's "Gang of 10" will limit investment in domestic oil and gas production and refineries because it would impose $30 billion in "clearly discriminatory new taxes" on the industry, API President Red Cavaney wrote in a letter to all 100 senators. Provisions for increasing access to domestic resources are too limited, Cavaney wrote.
