CMS gives info on proposed rule for meaningful use of EHRs

The proposed rule the CMS plans to introduce in December would not call for the implementation of any compliance procedure that doesn't work with the agency's computer systems, said Tony Trenkle, director of the agency's office of e-health standards and services. The CMS also plans to coordinate Medicare and Medicaid's policies for the meaningful use of electronic health records, Trenkle said.
