You don't have to be a homeowner to green your living space. Renters might not be able to stick solar panels on their roof or make major infrastructural changes, but they can still fix leaky faucets, install insulating window treatments or dial down the air conditioner. "The resident has a lot of opportunity to make big differences themselves without any input from the landlord whatsoever," says Paula Cino of the National Multi Housing Council.
