Pennsylvania cyber-teachers agree to contract with bonus pay

Educators and officials at a Pennsylvania K-12 online charter school agreed to a contract that includes bonus pay for teachers whose schools achieve federal benchmarks for adequate yearly progress. The contract -- which may be the first of its kind in the country -- is being called unique in that it affords job protections to virtual-school employees and ties online teachers' bonuses and professional-development requirements to student performance.
