Warfarin usage doesn't affect FOBT for colon cancer

Warfarin does not affect results of a fecal occult blood test for colon cancer, according to a study in the American Journal of Gastroenterology. Researchers said some 30% of physicians ask patients to stop taking the drug prior to the test, based on a belief it could increase the rate of false-positive results. Read the abstract.
