AT&T sues to cut off arbitration effort to block deal

AT&T has filed lawsuits in eight federal court jurisdictions in an effort to block a legal firm's attempt to stop the carrier's purchase of T-Mobile USA by filing arbitration cases on behalf of AT&T subscribers. AT&T on Friday did earn support from the Telecommunications Industry Association, a group that represents telecom vendors, but in a poll of 32 analysts, a growing number felt the government might move to block the deal.
