Federal spending cuts could imperil $3B Columbia River Crossing

The Columbia River Crossing project across the river between Portland, Ore., and Vancouver, Wash., could be in jeopardy given the new federal budget and proposed cuts in transportation projects. The $3 billion project had anticipated federal funding for half of its costs. "We certainly realize that federal dollars are shrinking," said Nancy Boyd, CRC director. "But we continue to feel that we have a competitive project for whatever federal programs may be available."
