Middle-Eastern, Asian carriers are ready to swoop in on Qantas routes

Middle Eastern and Asian airlines are closely watching Qantas Airways and its plans to cut back on certain services, Andrew Heasley writes. The bottom line: There are airlines anxious to fill the void. "The Gulf airlines and the Asian carriers out of Australia will have a stronger consumer offering -- whether it's leisure or corporate," says Etihad Airways CEO James Hogan.
