Veterinarian aims to regrow dog's burned pads with stem cells

Reading, Pa., veterinarian Boyd Wagner recently performed an experimental procedure using stem cells harvested from another animal to regrow the severely burned pads of a pit bull that was left out on a roof for 10 hours last month. It was the first time the procedure was performed and Wagner had to obtain permission from the Food and Drug Administration to inject the cells, which were programmed to be compatible with pad growth.
