Virent, Amyris to get federal funding for advanced-biofuel projects

Virent Energy and Amyris have been picked by the National Advanced Biofuels Consortium to receive second-phase funding for their work on developing drop-in fuel substitutes. Virent expects to deliver a pilot plant-ready process and a life-cycle analysis at the end of its three-year project, the company said.
