31-story green tower to sit partly atop old building in Vancouver, Canada

The Exchange, a planned 31-story skyscraper designed to become one of the most sustainable buildings in Canada, will be built to "sit partly on top of and beside" the Old Stock Exchange Tower built in 1929 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The project, which will cost about $194 million, will airm for LEED Platinum, feature solar shade louvers; hydronic heating and cooling; solar panels, and a stormwater retention system. Work on the project will start in October and is scheduled for completion in 2017.
