Educators share optimism, concerns about common core

Some educators are encouraged about the more rigorous math and language arts standards under the Common Core State Standards, but others expressed concern during a recent radio show about the attention being given to the development of common core assessments. "Instead of spending our time training teachers on how to do this well, we're spending our time trying to develop ways to measure this way of teaching that we haven't even been trained how to do and haven't even been able to pilot yet," one educator said.
