GE structures asset-based loan to Imation unit in Japan

GE Capital is lending $20.4 million to a unit of Imation as Japan calls for an increase in asset-based lending for small businesses. The loan is backed by accounts receivable and inventory. "The demand for this kind of funding at small and medium enterprises is on the rise," said Renpei Nakamura, a director at the Association of Asset Based Lending of Japan.
