N.J. camp aims to pique student interest in STEM

A New Jersey school district that serves a high proportion of economically disadvantaged students hosted its second-annual summer camp to get more students interested in science, technology, engineering and math. Hands-on learning activities included assembling race cars and designing race courses. "This gives them an opportunity to learn the principles of math and apply them, which they may never have had the chance to do so without this program," said Kevin Robinson, STEM supervisor of the district.
