Program pays workers' salaries to encourage hiring of unemployed

A program that operates in several U.S. cities pays workers' salaries for up to eight weeks while companies decide whether to hire the workers permanently. The goal is to help long-term unemployed workers find jobs. The program is funded in part by AARP, Citigroup and Wal-Mart.
