Report: Fla. hospitals cut readmissions, save $25 million

Data from the Florida Hospital Association show hospitals in the state have prevented 1,500 readmissions and saved $25 million over two years. The state had some of the worst health outcomes and highest costs five years ago but quality improvement initiatives have led to a 14.5% reduction in surgical complications, a 41% drop in blood stream infections and a 37% decrease in urinary tract infections.
