Smartphone sales top feature phones as Microsoft outpaces BlackBerry

Smartphones have overtaken feature phones for the first time as worldwide sales hit 225 million in the second quarter, a 46.5% increase over the same period last year. In addition, Microsoft's Windows Phone is outselling BlackBerry for the first time, garnering 3.3% of the global marketplace in the second quarter. The top-selling smartphones, however, are still phones powered by Google's Android and Apple's iOS.
