Study on Fla. sinkhole vulnerability to be funded by $1.08M grant

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Florida Division of Emergency Management are providing a $1.08 million grant for a three-year study aimed at developing a map to better understand sinkhole activity in Florida, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection. "Ultimately, this assessment will aid planners, builders and environmental regulators for the betterment of human health and safety as well as the economy," said Jon Arthur of the Florida Geological Survey.
