Amazon is steering clear of antitrust issues, ex-FTC official says

Amazon is unlikely to face an antitrust probe over its tough negotiating stances with publishers and movie studios because it is not pressuring vendors to raise their prices for rivals, said David Balto, a former Federal Trade Commission policy director. "The antitrust cops clearly would be on Amazon's doorstep" if that were the case, he said.
