"Digital twin" simulator seen as future of aircraft maintenance

A computational engineering tool envisioned as a "digital twin" for individual aircraft may in the future help owners anticipate maintenance needs. The twin would take into account the plane's flights and monitor systems to note anomalies between the plane's actual condition and what simulations indicate it should be.
