Photos: Ala.'s $5.4B Northern Beltline corridor starts to take shape

Photographs show that work on the $5.4 billion, 52-mile-long Northern Beltline corridor in Alabama is progressing, with grading and excavation ongoing. Meanwhile, archaeologists are undertaking "salvage excavation," which documents the presence of human history in that area. Wright Brothers Construction is the contractor in charge for the first 2-mile segment, which is scheduled for completion in 2016.
