Florida county may put developer fees toward mass transit

Officials in Broward County, Fla., are looking into directing the fees the county gets from builders toward mass-transit improvements rather than road expansions. County Commissioner Kristin Jacobs says she thinks the move is the start of a trend "that will be pre-eminent across the country. ... We can't keep chasing the car, but must think about how else we can move people around in this county."
