Political battles brew over Minnesota bridge replacement

Just two weeks after the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge in Minneapolis, political battles are brewing over plans to replace the structure. Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty has unveiled plans for a new bridge and is urging that it open by the end of next year, but some Democratic leaders are questioning the need and safety of rushing into a new plan.
